Day 01 Arrival Chennai
On arrival at Chennai airport/railway station,
traditional welcome & transfer to hotel at Chennai (formerly
known as Madras) is the gateway to Southern India and the largest city
in southern India located on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal,

Day 02 Chennai-Kanchipuram-Mahabalipuram

After breakfast half day city tour of Chennai
visiting Sri Parsarthy Temple, Luz church, Museum and Fort St. George.
Later drive to Mahabalipuram enroute visit Kanchipuram is one of the
most sacred towns of India and known as the city of thousand temples,
visit Kailashnath Temple, Sri Ekambaranathar Temple and Kamakshi
Temple. Continue on to Mahabalipuram, an important port and capital of
the Pallava Empire, Mahabalipuram, is known for its Pallava temples and
sculptures
Day 03 Mahabalipuram
After breakfast half day sightseeing tour of
Mahabalipuram - is famous for its unique 7th-century Shore Temple,
lovely beach and some of the most beautiful rock-cut temples in the
world. Situated on the shore of the Bay of Bengal, Mahabalipuram was
already a famous seaport in the 1st century AD. This town was a
workshop for temple building. Visit the seven pagoda-style shore
temples, lashed by the waves of the sea and the seven rathas or temple
chariots, a group of monolithic monuments & animal figures
carved out of solid rock, the earliest known examples of Dravidian
architecture. Rest of the time free at leisure. Overnight at hotel
Day 04 Mahabalipuram-Pondicherry (162/4
Kms/Hrs (Aprox.))
Today after breakfast, drive to Pondicherry.
After we reach we embark on half day city tour to Aurobindo Ashram, you
will be transported to a world of bliss and peace. Here the day starts
with meditation and visitors are allowed to take a look of Sri
Aurobindo and his chief disciple Mother's room. You will also visit the
Pondicherry beach and Pondicherry Museum where among the artifacts you
will see the discoveries of Arikamedu, Chola bronze items. Overnight

Day 05 Pondicherry-Tanjore (231/6 Kms/Hrs
(Aprox.))
After breakfast drive to Thanjavur is famous
today for its beautifully architectured temples and the amazing bronze
works it creates. It is centre for the classical arts like dance and
music. Upon arrival check into hotel. In the afternoon city tour of
Tanjore covering Brihadishwara Temple, Thanjavur Palace &
Museum. Overnight at hotel
Day 06 Tanjore-Trichy (54/2 Kms/Hrs (Aprox.))
After breakfast drive to Trichy situated on the banks of River Kaveri.
Upon arrival check into hotel. In the afternoon visiting Rock fort
temple and Srirangam - the Sriranganathaswamy temple. Overnight at
hotel.
Day 07 Trichy-Madurai (128/3 Kms/Hrs
(Aprox.))
After breakfast drive to Madurai, one of the most beautiful cities of
the state of Tamil Nadu. Upon arrival check into hotel. Rest of the day
free to relax. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 08 Madurai
Today enjoy sightseeing tour visiting Meenakshi
Temple, Nayak Palace and Museum. Rest of the time free at leisure.
Overnight at hotel.
Day 09 Madurai-Periyar (134/3 Kms/Hrs
(Aprox.))
After breakfast drive to Periyar, Periyar
wildlife sanctuary is home to nomadic tribes of wild elephant boar,
deer the great Indian tiger and more upon arrival check in at hotel.
Evening go for boat ride in the lake to watch wild animals. Overnight
at hotel.
Day 10 Periyar-Kovalam (280/6 Kms/Hrs
(Aprox.))
Today after breakfast, drive to Kovalam. Kovalam in the local language
means, place fringed with coconut palms, and indeed it is. Kovalam is
full of coconut trees and soothing seashore, one of the best in India
for swimming and other water sports. Upon arrival check into hotel.

Day 11 Kovalam
Full day free at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12 Kovalam-Kollam (76/2 Kms/Hrs (Aprox.))
After breakfast, we drive to Kollam one of the
oldest ports of the Malabar Coast and were once the centre of
international spice trade. Kollam is famous for its delicious Cashew
and Seafood. After checking in hotel we set out to see some historic
remains and the temples built in ornate style. We also visit Kollam
beach. Overnight at hotel.
Day 13 Kollam-Alleppey (84/2 O/n H.boat
Kms/Hrs (Aprox.))
After breakfast drive to Alleppey & at 1200 hrs check into a
traditional houseboat of Kerala Style and go on a leisurely backwater
cruise along the lake on a thatched houseboat. The houseboat with all
modern comforts lets you discover the countryside at your own pace. You
will have lunch, dinner and breakfast in the Houseboat. A ride on the
houseboat is a fabulous way to explore the fascinating beauty of the
backwaters. Overnight at Houseboat.
Day 14 Alleppey-Cochin (63/1.5 Kms/Hrs
(Aprox.))
Today disembark from houseboat and drive to Cochin also famous as
Kochi, Cochin is one of the most famous historical cities of Kerala.
Cochin is also famous for its exceptionally beautiful backwaters and
beaches, meet and assistance at the airport by our representative and
transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 15 Cochin
After breakfast half day city tour of Cochin visit the famous
Mattancherry Palace (Dutch Palace), St. Francis Church and the Jewish
Synagogue. Rest of the time free at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 16 Cochin-Departure
Check out from hotel at 1200 hrs. Later drive to Cochin Airport
& free till connect flight to onward destination. (DEPART) |
